Crossfit Kids is a scaled down version of Crossfit designed to meet the developmental needs of a very special population…our children! Our “programing” is designed to be age appropriate and assist in neurological development, cognitive development and motor skill development. For the younger age groups, many of our workouts are completed as relay races. Our older age groups are usually doing a workout racing a clock- working for an individual score but together with a group. We work on skills in the areas of gymnastics (basic body movements), strength (using body weight), and metabolic conditioning. We design our program to promote the following physical skills; endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. We also place a heavy emphasis on the following character traits; teamwork, perseverance, good sportsmanship, honesty and integrity. We believe character counts!
Our overall goal is to foster a love of fitness and healthy living at a young age. We believe if we can get kids moving and keep it FUN (and by FUN we mean REALLY FUN!), we will be able to attain this goal. We want every child to feel successful, no matter what their athletic ability may be. All of our workouts can be scaled up or down to make them more or less challenging. Our strongest athletes become stronger and children that have never had the opportunity to participate in an organized team sport now have the chance to feel like they are part of the team!
